Hobo Network - NerdInTheBay's Top Game of 2015

I've had the pleasure of meeting multiple upcoming streamers and personalities during my tenure as a full-time Twitch streamer. I created The Hobo Network to bring like-minded and passionate gamers together to enjoy the fun and hobby of streaming video games to a worldwide audience. For Game Of The Year 2015, I sent out open invitations for Hobo Network members to write an article detailing their favorite game of 2015. Keep in mind, this is the streamer's favorite game they played during the year, not necessarily a game that was released in 2015.

Each article is presented without editing and in their entirety.

Kami asked me to write on my thoughts of my Game of the Year for 2015. As I'm writing this I am currently at work doing the graveyard shift, trying to schedule videos for my channel & trying to watch Wrestle Kingdom 10. So you have my full focus I suppose. But here goes nothing! I haven't played or streamed many games that came out this year. But at the same time I just had my first full year of being a twitch streamer so I was playing older stuff like Suikoden, Yakuza 2, Super Puzzle Fighter and among others.

But of the games I played two stand out to me for particular reasons. One being Saint's Row Gat Out of Hell. Reasons is it was my very first game I streamed last year. Very fun, doesn't take itself too seriously like a Saints Row game, and related to the other game, there's a lot of activities to do rather than just hit story points. The other game follows suite and more as I currently play it on stream. That said my Game of the Year for 2015 is Yakuza 5.

Why is Yakuza 5 my Game of the Year and I haven't completed it yet? Many reasons. There are so many side quests/distractions you can do before you can even progress through the storyline. As of right now I'm barely into chapter 3 because I'm doing all the side stuff for Kiryu's chapter before I can move on and I'm loving every bit of it. The taxi/racing is addicting that feeds my love for Initial D, the fights are constant so I can discover new heat moves to gush over, I can go to Sega Arcade to play Virtua Fighter 2 & Taiko: Drum Master. Let that sink in. And This is just one character's section with their own individual mini game and I still have 4 more characters left to play, get to know their situation and game systems.

There's so much bang for your buck that you can't ignore. You like criminal drama? Check. Beat'em Up action? Check. RPG systems? Check. Rhythm game? Check. Driving Simulator/Initial D game? Check. Baseball? Check. Hunting? Check. Karaoke? Check. Goes full anime? Discount double check.

  1. Watching your Yakuza stream is awesome, as it's legit the perfect Taxi Simulator experience. Except when the patrons pee in the back of your taxi.

    1. There's no taxi cab confessions going around on this cab.

  2. This game. It's amazing looking and I enjoyed seeing the "Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift" racing from playstation. Awesome job on the article man, can't wait to see more of the Kiryu shenanigans
